Before the TransAsia Airways crash, Uni Air and Far Eastern Air successfully landed

A TransAsia Airways ATR72 aircraft, flight GE222, traveling from Kaohsiung to Magong, tragically crashed in Huxi Township, Penghu. It has been confirmed that 47 people on board were killed and 11 injured. As the accident occurred shortly after a typhoon had passed, some speculate that poor weather may have been a factor, but it is understood,the weather conditions had already met flight safety criteria, and prior to the crash, Uni Air flight 647 and Far Eastern Air flight 031 both landed successfully at Magong Airport. The TransAsia flight requested a go-around at 19:06, then lost contact with the control tower during approach. Further details are still under investigation by the relevant authorities.
