Regarding the TransAsia Airways GE222 flight crash at Magong Airport in Penghu on the evening of July 23, Transport Minister Yeh Kuang-shih stated when visiting the Civil Aeronautics Administration that he would take the first flight to Magong the next morning (24th). According to information obtained by the Civil Aeronautics Administration, the weather was within standard limits when GE222 was landing. At 19:06, the flight requested a go-around, and contact was lost when the approach procedure was issued.The flight data recorder from the crash site has been found and handed over to the Penghu County Police Bureau for safekeeping..
