Debris from GE222 flight cleared; TransAsia Airways: We’ve mobilized all resources

On the fourth day after TransAsia Airways Flight GE222 crashed in Huxi Township, Penghu, the airline has been updating the media on the latest developments several times a day,Earlier, TransAsia stated that it has “mobilized all available resources” in response to the incident and announced that all wreckage at the accident site has now been completely cleared.

The TransAsia public relations office expressed gratitude to the Ministry of National Defense for providing a C130 transport aircraft to carry seven of the deceased. That flight took off at 4:45 p.m. yesterday (25th) and arrived smoothly in Kaohsiung at 5:30 p.m. TransAsia also arranged an A321 chartered flight today (26th) to transport four of the deceased and their families back to Taipei in the morning. The chartered flight is scheduled to depart from Makung at 11:30 a.m. and arrive at Songshan Airport at 12:20 p.m., with further arrangements to be made based on family needs.

Additionally, TransAsia mentioned that regarding residential properties damaged on the ground, communication has been initiated with the village chief and residents. One home, which was hosting a funeral, was also affected by the incident. Today, a consultation meeting was held with the village chief and residents to discuss follow-up matters. All aircraft wreckage at the accident site has been completely cleared, and further cooperation with the Aviation Safety Council will be carried out for cockpit reconstruction to aid the investigation. Meanwhile, personal belongings left at the scene have been available for family identification since yesterday afternoon. So far, 14 groups have completed the identification process, totaling 47 items, and assistance with further claims will continue.
