"Beautiful South" Shibu Rural Tourism Area

Shibu is situated in the western part of Nanning, the green capital of Guangxi and the region’s capital city, 15 kilometers from the city center, with a population of over 40,000 and an administrative area of 128 square kilometers. It borders Xiangsi Lake to the east, the Jinqi section of the Nanning-Kunming Railway to the south, Jiangxi Town to the west, and the Jinsha Lake Scenic Tourism Area to the north. National Highway 324, University West Road, Diyuan Road, and Nantan Expressway all run through the area, complemented by a network of rural asphalt roads, making transportation very convenient. The natural pastoral scenery is beautiful, with distinct seasons, abundant produce, and a land rich in talent. It is enveloped by one river (the Yong River), one lake (Jinsha Lake), and one island (Sun Island). Original olive tree forests are spread across villages such as He’an, Yong’an, and Zhongliang, providing lush greenery and pleasant scenery. Known as the "Beautiful South," it is also the birthplace of the famous work "Beautiful South" written by renowned Guangxi author Lu Di.

Overall Development Plan

From 2006 to 2010, the Shibu Subdistrict Office carried out its plans in three phases to address the "three rural issues." Guided by the important thought of “-”, and under the specific requirements of the “Three Alls” theme — “everything prioritizes the interests of farmers, everything takes the development of modern agriculture as its starting point, and everything aims at building a new socialist countryside” — the office used the construction of ecological civilization villages as a breakthrough. By guiding farmers to adjust their agricultural industrial structure, develop characteristic, large-scale, and modern agriculture such as growing lilies, melons, and passion fruit, and promote “agritainment,” the office has strived for prosperity and a well-off life. Within this effort, six administrative villages — Zhongliang, Yong’an, He’an, Lezhou, Laokou, and Xingxian — covering a total area of 48 square kilometers — have been developed and constructed into a rural tourism area with the cultural essence of the "Beautiful South." Themed around "experiencing natural pastoral scenery and sports & health," the area focuses on developing new rural tourism, eco-agricultural sightseeing tourism, natural pastoral tourism, and industrial tourism. It integrates ecological sightseeing, tourism, leisure, and vacation, aiming to become Nanning’s beautiful “back garden.”

It spans a total area of 48 square kilometers and encompasses six villages: Zhongliang, Yong’an, He’an, Lezhou, Laokou, and Xingxian.
