Guangxi Geological Museum

The Guangxi Geological Museum serves as a science education base.

Location: Nanning, Guangxi.

Introduction: The Guangxi Geological Museum was established in 1958. Originally known as the Guangxi Geological Exhibition Hall, it was renamed to its current title after an expansion in 1986. Covering a total area of 2,182 m², the museum houses over ten thousand geological specimens, including the rare “crystal cluster” seldom seen in China, the uncommon “doghead gold” in Guangxi, extraterrestrial “iron meteorites,” “silicified wood,” “ichthyosaurs,” “Guizhou dragons,” “lizards,” “impression fossils of ancient turtles,” “deer antlers,” “Asian elephants,” “pyromorphite,” as well as uniquely styled ornamental rock specimens; the museum also features a relatively comprehensive collection of various rocks (minerals), minerals, with some well-preserved ancient vertebrate fossils, intact mineral single crystals, and crystal clusters. The museum includes an introductory hall, a geological science popularization hall, a mineral resources hall, and a paleontology and geologic history hall.
