Guangxi Ethnic Village is located at No. 11 Qinghuan Road, Nanning City. It is an extension of the main building of the Guangxi Museum of Nationalities, covering an area of over 60 acres. Situated at the southern foot of the Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area in Nanning and by the beautiful Yong River, the village was built on the basis of the open-air exhibition park of the Guangxi Museum of Nationalities. It reflects and showcases the local customs and cultures of Guangxi’s various ethnic minorities. The village features 12 ethnic residential buildings as its main highlight and serves as a window into ethnic culture, being the most influential ethnic culture exhibition center in Guangxi. Within the village, you can find both the Hakka enclosed house — one of China’s five major types of residential architecture — and the stilted dwellings of the Zhuang people, as well as the Dong people’s Wind and Rain Bridge, which is listed in the national intangible cultural heritage. Each ethnic architectural style is unique and distinctive.

Themed around the dynamic display of ethnic culture and centered on Guangxi’s intangible cultural heritage, Guangxi Ethnic Village focuses on showcasing ethnic architecture, ethnic song and dance performances, traditional craft demonstrations, ethnic food experiences, ethnic specialty sales, and the development of ethnic cultural industries. It is the best destination in Nanning, the regional capital, to experience the authentic ethnic culture of Guangxi.

The restaurant in Guangxi Ethnic Village is named “Hundred Family Banquet,” symbolizing the gathering of ingredients from a hundred homes, the flavors of a hundred families, and the delight of the common people.
