Liangfengjiang National Forest Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a national forest park, and a science education base.

Liangfengjiang National Forest Park boasts the largest botanical specimen garden in South China, China’s only yin-yang unity sacred Buddhist tree—the Bodhi tree, China’s second-largest grass skiing field, Guangxi’s largest forest paintball club, and the Butterfly & Curio Museum.

The park is located on Youyi Road in the southern suburbs of Nanning, 14.5 kilometers from the city center.

The entire park consists of three parts: the Bodhi Grand View Garden, the Plant Kingdom, and the Amusement World, further divided into ten distinctive scenic spots: Bodhi Buddha Light, Twin Lions Worshipping Buddha, Trees’ Homeland, Sunshine Tribe, Eight-Diagram Waters, Leisure River Isle, Rainforest Symphony, Passion Zone, Green Island Dragon Pearl, and Primeval Grove. It caters to various needs such as sightseeing, barbecuing, hiking, boating, fishing, swimming, forest bathing, conferences, vacations, science education, research, cultural entertainment, and group activities.

It is the earliest national-level forest park in Guangxi, approved by the Ministry of Forestry, covering an area of over 70,000 mu. Located in the southern suburbs of Nanning, 7 kilometers from the city center, the highway from the city to the airport runs through the heart of the park. Surrounded by mountains and water, the park features lush forests, verdant grass, scattered wildflowers, birdsong, and insect chirps, presenting a picturesque natural landscape. The park was formerly known as Nanning Arboretum and was established as Liangfengjiang National Forest Park in 1992 with approval from the former Ministry of Forestry. In 2001, it was listed among the first batch of China’s Civilized Forest Parks and rated as one of the first national 3A-level tourist attractions, as well as one of Nanning’s Top Ten Tourist Attractions.

Liangfengjiang National Forest Park covers a total area of 4,863.7 hectares. Located south of the Tropic of Cancer, it has a subtropical monsoon climate with short winters and long summers. The terrain is hilly and basin-like, with Lion Ridge towering in the center and the Liangfeng River meandering through the park. The park consists of the Liangfeng Area, Phoenix Lake Forest Resort Area, and Wuxiang Ridge Forest Park Area.

The park features verdant mountain screens, lush green trees, diverse forest wonders, and the shimmering waters of the Liangfeng River. The green mountains and clear waters complement each other, while secluded hills, emerald waters, unique trees, fresh air, and elegant pavilions create a picturesque natural landscape. Visitors can enjoy the park’s exceptional natural scenery and exquisite cultural attractions, savor 21st-century green food, and watch distinctive folk performances.

Liangfengjiang Forest Park is home to 1,294 species across 122 families of subtropical trees and tree species endangered in Guangxi, including 85 species under national protection. The park also houses the largest camellia gene bank in South China.

The park has high levels of negative air ions. Coming here from the city instantly refreshes the mind, making it a true “forest bath.” Liangfengjiang Forest Park meets various needs such as sightseeing, barbecuing, hiking, boating, fishing, swimming, forest bathing, conferences, vacations, science education, research, cultural entertainment, and group activities.
