Xingling. Located in Song Village at the confluence of the Youjiang and Yongjiang Rivers in Jiangxi Town, this is the site of the tomb of the last empress dowager (or royal dowager) of the Ming Dynasty — historically known as Xingling. It is the only imperial mausoleum in Nanning. According to the Nanning Prefecture Annals compiled during the Ming and Qing dynasties and the Yongning County Annals from the Republican era: Xingling is located in Song Village, Hejiang Town, west of the county. It is the burial place of the consort of the Prince of Gui. In the fifth year of the Yongli reign during the Southern Ming (1651), in the fourth month, on the day of Mao Wu, Empress Dowager Wang passed away in Tianzhou (now Tiandong Town). She was buried in Nanning in the fifth month, and posthumously honored with the title of Filial and Upright Empress Dowager. Locally, it is referred to as the “Imperial Aunt’s Tomb.” The mausoleum complex includes the main tomb, auxiliary tombs, a worship pavilion, a tomb platform, a tomb pond, and the back area of the tomb, covering an area of approximately 1.33 hectares. It is located about 20 kilometers from the city center and is accessible by both waterway and road. During the 1930s and 1960s, it was looted twice. To this day, the village still retains bluestone slabs, Ming bricks, and evergreen wood sleepers that were dismantled from the mausoleum by local villagers at that time.
