Fish Eagle Beach Shell Mound Site

The Fish Eagle Beach Shell Mound Site is located on the first-level terrace of the eastern bank of the Zuojiang River, about 2 kilometers from Bapi Slope in Tongliang Village, Jiangxi Town. It was discovered in November 1990 by archaeologists from Nanning City. The eastern, southern, and northern sides of the site are all hilly terrain. At the triangular area where a small gully meets the Zuojiang River at the northern end, a small amount of shell accumulation was found. Due to erosion, the shells were exposed on the surface. Animal bones and chipped stone tools were collected, but no pottery shards were found. The site extends approximately 10 meters from east to west and about 30 meters from north to south, with an exposed stratigraphic thickness of about 30 centimeters. It dates back to the Neolithic Age.
