Yangmei Scholar’s House is a cultural relic protection unit of Nanning City.

Yangmei Scholar’s House is located at No. 13 Linjiang Street, Yangmei Village, Jiangxi Town, Jiangnan District. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty and is categorized as an ancient building.

In 2017, Yangmei Scholar’s House was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Nanning City.

Yangmei Village: Established during the Song Dynasty, Yangmei Village boasts a history of over a thousand years. It was originally built by four surnames—Luo, Liu, Lu, and Li—and was initially called “Baihua Village” (White Flower Village) due to its thick brambles and abundant white blossoms. Later, after General Di Qing pacified the region and people from various places continually settled here, the village gradually developed and expanded. Surrounded by clear streams that flow vigorously, it was then renamed “Yangxi Village” (Flowing Stream Village). With the passage of time and the advancement of society, as people became more enlightened and aspired toward beauty, it was eventually renamed “Yangmei Village” (Spreading Beauty Village). The villagers are known for their kindness, respect for literature and martial arts, and emphasis on virtue and the pursuit of beauty. By the Ming and Qing dynasties, the village had already seen rapid development in both culture and economy, flourishing vibrantly and prosperously.
