Scenic Area Introduction:

1. Overview of Major Attractions. The Chenping River originates from the Damei Mountain and Xiaomingshan Mountain ranges, passing through Chenping and Wuxing, two village (residential) committees. Its starting point is at Zhugen Bridge in Chenping Residential Committee, with a total length of 13.5 kilometers. Currently, 5 kilometers have been developed, and the endpoint is at Jinjing Gorge in Wuxing Village Committee. This river is abundant in water resources, has good water quality, is unpolluted, and has a normal flow rate of 3–5

cubic meters per second, flowing into the Yong River via Liujing in Heng County. The riverbed is clear to the bottom with fish and pebbles visible, and the scenery on both banks is beautiful and spectacular. Along the way, there are ancient waterwheels, weeping banyans, Thunder God Rock, temples, and Jinjing Gorge, among other attractions. The river widens and narrows, the currents shift between calm and rapid, with thrilling rapids featuring drops of over 1.5 meters that are truly heart-pounding.

2. Distance from Major Towns. Binyang County is a suburban county of Nanning City. Chenping Township is 37 kilometers from Binyang County town, 60 kilometers from the capital city of Nanning, 17 kilometers from the Nanning–Wuzhou Second-Class Highway, and 25 kilometers from the Liujing interchange of the Nanning–Liuzhou Expressway. The transportation network is well-developed and travel is convenient.

3. Other Attractions Nearby: Approximately 3 kilometers from the Chenping Rafting site is the scenic Liuxia River Waterfall. Heading toward Luxi from the Chenping Rafting site,

35 kilometers away is the Kunlun Pass Patriotic Education Base, 28 kilometers away is the Sulong Phoenix Terrace Waterfall, 28 kilometers away are the Xinqiao Baiyan Tourist Area and Qingping Reservoir Tourist Area, 40 kilometers away is the Qing Dynasty imperial examination site of the Sien Prefecture, 60 kilometers away are the Zhuoxu Ethnic Village and the Qingshui River, and 15 kilometers away is the Liujing High-Tech Industrial Park.

II. Attraction Introduction

2. Tour Duration: The full rafting trip takes about two hours, and it takes approximately 30 minutes by vehicle to return

from the endpoint to the starting point.

3. Communication and Network: Currently, only China Mobile mobile phones can be used within the scenic area.

4. Best Travel Season: Every year from May to October.

5. Annual Climate Characteristics: The climate of the attraction is subtropical, with an average annual temperature of 26°C, annual rainfall of 1600 ml, and pleasant weather all year round, making it suitable for travel.

III. Local Specialties

The area is rich in local specialties and has a simple, honest folk culture. Main specialties include Chenping free-range chicken, sweet bamboo shoots, and wild bee honey. Chenping free-range chicken has a compact build, fine bones, tender and firm meat, delicious taste, and is especially suitable for making chicken soup. Chenping sweet bamboo shoots are a natural, unpolluted mountain delicacy—crisp, fresh, tender, high in protein, and rich in various vitamins. Wild bee honey is a nutritious, natural health product with no added ingredients.

IV. Scenic Area Reception Capacity Assessment

1. Accommodation: The accommodation conditions are relatively good, and 2–3 restaurants can be recommended.

2. Dining: The cuisine mainly features local specialties such as Chenping free-range chicken and wild boar.

3. Transportation: The daily shuttle bus schedule from Luxi County town to the attraction is as follows: The earliest bus from the county town to the attraction departs at 8:20 AM, and the latest at 6:00 PM, with one bus every half hour, including sleeper buses. The earliest bus from the attraction back to the county town departs at 6:00 AM, and the latest at 3:30 PM. Individual travelers can take the bus and get off at the township government.

4. Reception Services: The overall reception capacity is high. Management and service personnel are trained, with strong

ideological, cultural qualities, and professional service standards. Tourism is available year-round, regardless of peak or off-peak seasons, but rafting is only possible during the high-water period (May to November). During Golden Weeks (such as Labor Day and National Day), reservations are required one day in advance. If your travel extends beyond bus operating hours, arrangements can be made to send you to the Nanning–Wuzhou Second-Class Highway by tour vehicle.

5. Ethnic Groups: The local population is mostly Han Chinese, with some Zhuang people. The primary language is the local dialect, with some Zhuang spoken as well. All locals speak Mandarin.

V. Travel Itinerary: A one-day tour route can be arranged. First, enjoy the thrilling rafting experience, then after the excitement, visit the Liuxia River Waterfall, stroll and admire the lake and mountain scenery, and in the afternoon, soak in the natural hot spring pool at the lower end of the Liuxia River Waterfall. The spring water originates from the foot of the mountain, remains unpolluted along the way, and is rich in minerals. Soaking in it is like enjoying a hot spring, relaxing muscles and tendons, relieving fatigue, and with long-term soaking, it can help eliminate skin ailments and treat chronic illnesses, achieving a cure without medication.

VI. How to Get There:

1. Best Route: For visitors coming from Nanning, turn left at the Dongjiang Bridge intersection on the Nanning–Wuzhou Second-Class Highway and drive straight through, passing through Sulong and Gaotian towns (or townships). It is 17 kilometers from Dongjiang Bridge to the attraction. For visitors coming from Guilin or Liuzhou, you can take the Luxi–Chenping road from Luxi County town to reach the attraction, a total distance of 37 kilometers.

2. Directions to nearby scenic spots: From the attraction, head to the Dongjiang Bridge intersection, then follow the Nanwu Second-Class Highway for 18 kilometers to the Kunlun Pass Patriotic Education Base. About 5 kilometers near Dongjiang Bridge is the Silong Phoenix Pool Waterfall. At the 28-kilometer mark on the Nanwu Highway lies the Xin Qiao White Rock Tourist Area and the Qingping Reservoir Tourist Area. Within 3 kilometers of the county town, you’ll find the Sien Prefecture, a Qing Dynasty imperial examination site. The Zouwei Ethnic Village is 23 kilometers from the county town. In the Qingshui River area, 15 kilometers from Xin’an Village Committee in Chenping Township, is the Liujing High-Tech Industrial Park.

VIII. Travel Tips: Independent and self-driving travelers should pay attention to the following before departure:

1. Check the recent weather conditions. During flood or rainy seasons, consider postponing rafting. Generally, the best time for rafting is two to three days after moderate to heavy rain, when water flow is strong, offering a more thrilling experience.

2. Contact the local scenic area to address any concerns you may have, especially regarding safety.

IX. Special Notes

Be prepared for getting wet during the rafting trip. Bring spare dry clothes for changing. To avoid losing valuables such as cameras and phones in the water, you may entrust them to the staff for safekeeping.

Safety personnel are stationed at rapids, but for safety reasons, children under 10, seniors over 50, pregnant women, and individuals with heart disease or high blood pressure are prohibited from entering the rapids.
