In the autumn of 1977 and the winter of 1979, while clearing foundation trenches for new houses, villagers from Weibo Village in Luxu discovered batches of bronze artifacts at two different locations, which were then handed over to cultural heritage authorities. In January 1980, a team from the Cultural Relics Work Team of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region conducted an on-site investigation and confirmed that these were two ancient tombs from the Warring States period. Tomb M1, discovered in the autumn of 1977, runs east to west, measuring approximately 180 cm in length, 80 cm in width, and 70 cm in depth. Burial objects were arranged along both sides of the tomb pit. The surviving bronze artifacts are heavily corroded and damaged, including one bell, one tripod, two swords, two spears, three axes, two scrapers, and six fork-like objects. One bronze bell and one pottery bowl (or cup) are known to have been lost. Tomb M2, located about 20 meters from Tomb M1, was discovered in the winter of 1979. It also runs east to west, measuring approximately 170 cm in length, 80 cm in width, and 70 cm in depth. The bronze burial objects were found placed at both ends and sides of the tomb pit. The surviving artifacts include two bronze bells, one bronze sword, and one bronze fork-like object, all relatively well preserved. Experts believe the tomb owners were individuals of social standing at the time, and suggest that Hongninling may be an ancient tomb complex. On June 20, 1986, the county government issued a notice designating the Hongninling area in Weibo Village as a cultural relics protection zone.
