Binyang JinKeng Gorge

The JinKeng Gorge Scenic Area is only 73 kilometers from Nanning City, with convenient transportation and about a one-hour drive. The scenic area is located in Chenping Township, Binyang County, an area known for its beautiful mountains and clear waters.

The Chenping River originates from two mountain ranges: Damei Mountain and Xiaoming Mountain. Located in Chenping Township, Binyang County, Nanning City, and about 42 kilometers from Nanning, it is a tributary of the Yongjiang River. With a length of 37 kilometers, the river features perilous rapids, jagged rocks, and is considered a quintessential thrilling whitewater rafting destination in southern Guangxi, often referred to as the “Number One Rafting Experience in Southern Guangxi.”

The Chenping River boasts abundant water resources, good water quality, and no pollution, with a normal flow rate of 3–5 cubic meters per second. The riverbed is so clear that you can see the fish and small stones at the bottom, while the surrounding scenery along both banks is stunning and spectacular. Along the way, you’ll pass by ancient waterwheels, weeping banyans, Thunder God Rock, temples, and JinKeng Gorge, among other attractions. The river widens and narrows alternately, with calm and rapid sections creating a dynamic flow. The rapids feature drops of over 1.5 meters, offering an exhilarating experience.

About 3 kilometers from the Chenping Rafting site lies the scenic Liuxia Waterfall. Thirty-five kilometers toward Luzhai from the Chenping Rafting site is the Guilin Pass Patriotic Education Base, 28 kilometers away is the Silon Phoenix Terrace Waterfall, the Xin Qiao White Rock Tourist Area, and the Qingping Reservoir Tourist Area. Forty kilometers away is the Sinong Prefecture, a Qing Dynasty imperial examination site. Sixty kilometers away are the Zhouxu Ethnic Village and the Qingshui River, and 15 kilometers away is the Liujing High-Tech Industrial Park.

The total duration of the tour is approximately two hours, and it takes about 30 minutes by vehicle to return from the end point of the rafting to the starting point.
