Xidaming Mountain

Xidaming Mountain is located between the Left and Right Rivers, situated among Daxin, Chongzuo, and Fusui counties. Its highest peak reaches 1,080 meters, and all four slopes of the mountain have gradients exceeding 80°. The mountaintop features a gently undulating surface at 1,000 meters, while another gentle slope exists at around 600 meters on the mountainside.

The strata are primarily composed of Cambrian and Ordovician sandstone-shale formations, overlain in sequence by Silurian quartz sandstone, Devonian quartz sandstone, and shale. The surrounding area consists of Paleozoic limestone. As a result, the mountain has a distinct boundary, marked by steep ridges formed from hard Devonian quartz sandstone, while the outer areas are surrounded by peak forest karst terrain. The mountain has been deeply dissected by torrential flows, resulting in the formation of large alluvial fans at its base.

At the junction between the alluvial fans and the peak forest karst, notable karst dissolution has created broad valleys, which are the most suitable areas in the mountainous region for rice cultivation. These valleys encircle the mountain, forming a ring of flat land, creating a highly distinctive landscape.
