Fuchuan Camellia Oil is a protected Geographical Indication product.
“Fuchuan Camellia Oil,” a specialty of Yangxin County in Hubei Province, is a China National Geographic Indication product. It is recognized as a China Green Food, China Organic Product, and a Famous Brand Product of Hubei Province. The product is made from naturally wild camellia fruits sourced in Yangxin County, using advanced production equipment and scientific refining methods to produce a premium oil. According to testing, Fuchuan Camellia Oil contains up to 80%-90% or more of essential unsaturated fatty acids—namely oleic acid and linoleic acid—which rank the highest among all vegetable oils. It has a human digestion and absorption rate of over 95%, making it a rare woody plant oil. Rich in Vitamin E, A, D, as well as various trace elements such as phosphorus, zinc, and calcium, research by medical and nutritional experts both domestically and internationally has found that long-term consumption of high-oleic camellia oil can soften blood vessels, help prevent hypertension, high blood lipids, and cardiovascular diseases. It also enhances the immune system, promotes skin beauty, supports children’s bone growth, and contains unique camellia glycosides which are believed to have anti-cancer properties. Owing to its rich nutrition and health benefits, camellia oil is widely acknowledged as a health-promoting oil.
Yangxin County is known as the “Camellia Oil Capital of China.” Wild camellia is widely distributed across the region. The wild camellia fruits have a long production cycle, requiring five full seasons—from autumn, winter, spring, summer, back to autumn—for blooming, fruiting, and maturation, nourished by rain and sunlight. Their blossoms are beautiful, and the fruits prized. Hence the saying: “carrying children while pregnant” and “miraculous fruit of the fairy mountain.” Camellia fruits are a rare resource, and camellia oil is a purely natural organic and green food, making it a treasured oil often hailed as the “King of Oils.” As such, camellia oil is increasingly valued worldwide. International grain and oil organizations have listed camellia oil as a healthy edible oil recommended for global promotion. Its quality is comparable to the world-renowned olive oil, earning it the reputation of the “Oriental Olive Oil.” This provides Fuchuan Camellia Oil with abundant raw materials. The area boasts unique natural conditions and environment, far from urban pollution, with no exposure to “three wastes” or residues from chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
The protected production area of Fuchuan Camellia Oil as a Geographical Indication product covers the entire current administrative region of Yangxin County, Hubei Province.
