Xiaolinglong Scenic Area

Xiaolinglong Scenic Area is located on Encheng Island in Encheng Community, Encheng Township, Daxin County. Stretching from the Encheng Community Committee to the Xiaolinglong Cliff Carvings, it includes the Encheng Community Cultural Square, the Back Garden of the Encheng Tusi, and the Xiaolinglong Cliff Carvings, covering an area of about 30 acres. It serves as an ideal place for leisure, sports, and entertainment for the local residents of Encheng Township.

The Encheng Island where Xiaolinglong Scenic Area is situated has historically been the founding site of the Encheng Tusi regime through various dynasties. It preserves numerous cultural relics such as the Tusi street, Xiaolinglong Cliff Carvings, ruins of the Tusi government office, the Tusi back garden, Tusi tunnels, and the Longwei Mountain beacon tower. The island boasts abundant natural and cultural resources, earning it the reputation of the “Treasured Island of Encheng.” The Encheng River flows around the island with a well-developed water system. Towering mountains line the shores, and caves are widespread across the area. With a forest coverage rate of over 98%, the island features “verdant mountains, beautiful waters, magical caves, and exquisite rocks.” Ancient trees, clear waters, and villages within the island create a picturesque scene akin to a traditional Chinese landscape painting.

Since the beginning of this year, in order to further improve the ecological tourism infrastructure of Encheng Township, enhance the overall tourism image of Encheng, and meet the leisure and cultural needs of both residents and tourists, the county Party committee and county government have actively sought project funding to upgrade and renovate Xiaolinglong Scenic Area, effectively transforming tourism resources into socio-economic benefits. In October 2015, the upgrading and renovation project of Xiaolinglong Scenic Area officially commenced. Upon completion, the scenic area will integrate the Encheng Community Square, the Xiaolinglong Cliff Carvings, and the Back Garden of the Tusi, blending harmoniously with the surrounding beautiful scenery to expand both the cultural and physical dimensions of Encheng Island, turning it into a large-scale ecological garden landscape.

In recent years, to further enhance the tourism development environment of Encheng Island and in line with the work strategy of “promoting growth through urban development,” a series of projects have been completed, including the solar streetlight illumination project for the entire main street and scenic area square, the renovation and construction of the main street and pedestrian pathways, and the greening and beautification project for the main street and scenic area square. Together with the currently ongoing extension project of the main street and the upgrading and renovation of Xiaolinglong Scenic Area, these initiatives are collectively known as the “Five Major Projects.” They encompass comprehensive measures for beautification, greening, lighting, and hard-surfacing, completely refreshing the community’s appearance and earning praise from both residents and tourists.

With the continuous advancement of economic and social development, people are placing greater emphasis on cultural quality of life and have an increasing demand for cultural activities. Xiaolinglong Scenic Area not only meets the recreational needs of the public but also significantly contributes to the development of Encheng’s eco-tourism.

The management entity of Xiaolinglong Scenic Area is Guangxi Nongwang Tourism Investment and Development Co., Ltd. The scenic area was initially established in 2013 and, after three years of investment, construction, and development, has taken its initial shape. It has successively built cultural heritage sites such as the Tusi Street, Xiaolinglong Cliff Carvings, ruins of the Tusi government office, the Tusi Back Garden, Tusi tunnels, and the Longwei Mountain Beacon Tower. The area also offers tourism and leisure facilities and recreational activities including hiking, camping, cycling, and bamboo rafting. It officially opened to the public for free on October 1, 2015. The cumulative investment amounted to 5 million yuan.
