Detian · Old Kapok Scenic Area

The Old Kapok Scenic Area is located in Aijiang Village, Shakeng Town, Daxin County, Chongzuo City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is only 6 kilometers away from Detian Waterfall — Asia’s largest and the world’s second-largest transnational waterfall — and the China-Vietnam Free Trade Zone, making it one of the key attractions within the Great Detian Scenic Area. On December 23, 2016, it was reviewed and approved at the executive meeting of the Tourism Development Commission of the Autonomous Region and officially designated as a National 4A-level Tourist Attraction. Its name has now been listed on the official tourism development website of the region.

Nestled along the Guichun River, the China-Vietnam border river, the scenic area features a network of tributaries that weave through its landscape. Here, streams flow year-round, bamboos thrive in serene corners, and kapok trees and wisteria turn shades of red and purple in spring. Hike up Lion Mountain for a view of the neighboring land, wander through seas of flowers and camp with joy, cycle along the border river amid the fragrance of rice paddies, or spend the night enchanted under the old kapoks…

The Old Kapok Scenic Area is an unmissable highlight of any Detian travel experience. Covering over 600 acres with a total investment of approximately 500 million yuan, it is being developed in three phases. The first phase has already completed projects including the ASEAN Products Commercial Street, Old Kapok Resort Hotel, Wisteria Garden, RV Campsite, and Vietnamese Basket Boats.
