Introduction The Buliu River is a drifting and sightseeing destination that combines beautiful mountains, clear waters, a fairy bridge, and unique caves. Located in Moli Village, Xinhua Township, Leye County, it is 51 kilometers from the county seat. The river originates from the Cenwanglaoshan Mountain in Tianlin County, flows through Lingyun, Leye, and Tian'e counties, and joins the Hongshui River in the Longtan Reservoir area, stretching a total of 132 kilometers. The scenic area is covered year-round with lush trees, teeming with fish and vibrant birdlife. Experts have called it the “kingdom of plants and paradise of birds,” earning it the nickname “Journey to Paradise.” The Buliu River Valley is flanked by dense subtropical rainforests, featuring a rich diversity of plant species. The riverbanks rise between 100 and 1,200 meters above sea level. The drifting section of the scenic area spans 9.3 kilometers, comprising 12 major rapids, 10 turbulent stretches, and 14 gently curved river bends, earning it the title “No. 1 Drift in Guangxi.” The riverbed is mainly composed of sandy rock formations with numerous reefs. Along the banks, there are karst caves such as the Sugarcane Cave and the Fish-Exiting Cave (Cold Spring Cave). The Cold Spring Cave houses large and densely concentrated stalactites, as well as attractions like the “Great Wall of Steel,” “Ironclad Fortress,” and “Water Surface Hall.” These sites complement the drifting experience, creating layer upon layer of breathtaking scenery. Particularly remarkable is the natural stone arch bridge formed by the collapse of three large mountains on the Buliu River, locally known as the “Fairy Bridge.” It is situated downstream in the river section. The Fairy Bridge stands 145 meters high, 19.2 to 19.4 meters wide, 78 meters thick, with an arch height of 67 meters and a span of 177 meters. Like a dragon spanning the riverbanks, this naturally formed wonder boasts majestic grandeur and is a rare natural stone arch bridge.
