Liuzhou Urban Planning Exhibition Hall is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The exhibition is located in the east wing of the Wenchang Comprehensive Building, next to Hedong Park in the Hedong New District. With an exhibition area of 2,300 square meters, it is currently the largest urban planning exhibition hall in Guangxi. The ancient administrative evolution of Liuzhou, precious images from the Republican era, the tremendous changes in the city’s contemporary landscape, and the fascinating prospects of future planning can all be viewed here. The most eye-catching attraction in the exhibition hall is a sand table model built at a 1:750 scale, covering an area of over 500 square meters. The sand table miniaturizes the urban and natural overview of Liuzhou within a total area of 560 square kilometers.

Using the latest technological methods, it presents the “yesterday, today, and tomorrow” of Liuzhou’s urban development, condensing over 2,000 years of the city’s geography, ecology, and culture. It serves as a new window showcasing the “complete picture” of Liuzhou.

The exhibition hall has two floors and makes full use of Liuzhou’s local landscape features as design elements for the exhibition spaces. With the mother river, the Liu River, as the main thread, it connects 18 themed exhibition halls. These include “Historical Review,” “Overall Planning,” “Landscape Corridor,” and “Industrial Layout.” The backgrounds of exhibition panels, image displays, and floor decorations all feature elements of the Liu River. Visitors feel as though they are boating along the long river of history, surveying the past and present while envisioning the future.

Liuzhou Urban Planning Exhibition Hall is located on the east bank of the Liu River, within the east wing of the Wenchang Comprehensive Building. It is a specialized exhibition venue showcasing the achievements of Liuzhou’s urban planning and construction. With the theme “Planning Makes Liuzhou Better,” the hall displays the city’s historical journey and future vision, making it the best place for visitors to systematically learn about Liuzhou’s history, urban development, and transformation.

The exhibition hall has two floors. The first floor mainly showcases the historical development of Liuzhou, with the most eye-catching feature being a large-scale sand table built at a 1:750 scale, reflecting the overall planning and current state of Liuzhou, allowing visitors to take in the entire city’s outline. Additionally, the Urban Landscape Corridor and virtual tours of the Hundred-Mile Liu River are not to be missed. The second floor primarily highlights achievements in key projects such as bridges in Liuzhou and surrounding counties and cities, as well as content related to ethnic customs and cultural tourism. It focuses on exploring cultural heritage and envisioning a bright planning future. In addition to displaying graphic and textual materials, the exhibition also incorporates multimedia applications such as touch panels, allowing visitors to engage with Liuzhou through multiple senses and perspectives, ensuring an interesting and immersive experience.
