Liuzhou Stone Expo Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Ma’lushan Stone Expo Park in Liuzhou is located at No. 272 Donghuan Road, Hedong New District, and construction began in November 2009. Covering an area of 91.51 hectares, it uses landscapes as its structural base and stone culture as its core, making it the largest stone-themed park in China so far.

The park is primarily structured around stone exhibition halls, a stone culture street, and stone manors, divided into three zones: Zone A serves as a leisure center focused on dining, relaxation, and entertainment; Zone B is divided into several stone manors showcasing premium Liuzhou stones; Zone C centers on the Liuzhou Stone Museum and the Stone Culture Street, focusing on stone exhibitions, sales, and leisure activities. The expo park is further subdivided into eight functional areas based on these three zones: the Rest & Theme Sightseeing Area, Stone Manor Sightseeing Area, Stone Theme Sightseeing Area, Stone Culture Exhibition Area, Ecological Mountain Sightseeing Area, Sports & Leisure Sightseeing Area, Specialty Plant Landscape Area, and Entertainment & Rest Sightseeing Area.

The core attraction of the expo park — the Liuzhou Stone Museum — is the centerpiece of the Ma’lushan Stone Expo Park. It consists of a stone exhibition area, a cultural display area, a leisure zone, a visitor service center, and a multifunctional hall. It is the largest specialized stone museum in China to date and is known as the “Dream Museum of Stones.” Former President Jiang Zemin, during his visit to the museum, repeatedly praised it as exquisitely unique and unparalleled in the world, and inscribed the words: “Mountain-Water Dragon City, Exquisite and Beautiful Stones.”

The Liuzhou Stone Museum is located in the southeast area of the expo park, covering a land area of 6,865.14 m² with a total floor space of 12,392.8 m². It is a streamlined building designed in the shape of a stone, grand and minimalist, with a total investment of 173 million yuan. Construction began in November 2009, and it officially opened to the public on October 28, 2011, after the complete relocation of the former “Bagui Stone Museum.”

The Liuzhou Stone Museum has three floors of exhibition halls, divided into more than ten display areas. The first floor focuses on Liuzhou stones, with the Hongshui River as the main thread, showcasing a variety of locally produced, colorful premium stones. The second floor displays representative premium stones from across China as well as from Japan, South Korea, Europe, America, and other regions and countries, integrating both appreciation and cultural elements. The third floor features small stone artworks, mineral crystals, and fossils. All the stones in the collection are considered oriental treasures and rare wonders.

The Stone Culture Street, a scenic corridor between two hills, stretches 1,500 meters in length and consists of over ten one- to three-story antique-style garden buildings, with a total construction area of 18,000 m². It is a high-end tourism commodity and cultural street mainly dedicated to stone sales and echoes the Liuzhou Stone Museum from afar.

The Stone Manor, a folk stone collection venue rich in cultural atmosphere, is situated in Zone B, which covers an area of 8.7 hectares. It is composed of several courtyard-style garden buildings, scattered and arranged in a well-spaced layout. The manor gathers renowned stone connoisseurs primarily from Liuzhou and other regions. Most of the premium stones in the manor are for exhibition, with a small portion available for sale. The Stone Manor is a microcosm of the folk stone collections of “Stone Capital Liuzhou.”

In 2013, it was awarded the title of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Science Education Base, selected as a research center for the Stone Culture Research Association of the Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture, and included in the “Second Batch of Liuzhou Museum Cluster Units” as well as the “New Generation of Eight Scenic Spots of Liuzhou.”
