Established in April 1999, Guangxin Agricultural Ecological Park covers an area of over 5,000 acres and is located 18 kilometers from Zhaoqing’s Seven Star Crags and Dinghu Mountain. The park actively develops brands in land consolidation, environmental education, agricultural tourism, and science education. It has been successively awarded titles such as “Guangdong Provincial Ecological Demonstration Farm”; “Guangdong Provincial Environmental Education Base”; “Off-site Development Demonstration Base for Supplementary Cultivated Land”; “Guangdong Provincial Agricultural Modernization Demonstration Zone”; “Guangdong Provincial Science Education Base”; “Guangdong Provincial Youth Science and Technology Education Base”; “Provincial-level Da Yu Cup Excellence Award”; “Guangdong Provincial New Tourism Highlight”; “One of the First National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Sites”, and in 2005, it became the “Official Outdoor Filming Location for the Miss Asia Pageant (China Region)”. It is also the largest natural agro-forestry and fruit ecological scenic area in Guangdong Province, serving as the top choice for integrating agricultural sightseeing, leisure vacations, and business conferences. The construction of the ecological park is mainly static. Its original state was a barren, badly damaged slope, referred to by local farmers as “clawing at the sky on sunny days and bleeding on rainy days,” with exposed, infertile soil and severe soil erosion. During the construction process, we emphasized environmental protection, nature, and ecology. Through land consolidation and rational development, applying ecological principles, implementing a three-dimensional farming model, and insisting on resource reuse, a positive ecological cycle was formed, creating a harmonious environment between humans and nature.

The construction of the ecological park combines development with conservation, using ecological principles to implement three-dimensional breeding, forming resource reuse and a positive ecological cycle. At the same time, it adheres to the principle of promoting learning through fun and fun through learning, allowing recreational and educational content to permeate and reinforce each other. Emphasizing the three major features of “natural ecology, environmental education, and agricultural technology,” the park has developed three-dimensional farming ecological models such as “mulberry-based fish ponds” and “fruit-based fish ponds.” The park has been included in the core area of the planned Gaoyao Agricultural Science and Technology Park. Currently, research institutions such as the Provincial Agricultural Science Fruit Tree Research Institute, Plant Protection Research Institute, Biological Research Institute, Sun Yat-sen University, and South China Agricultural University have entered the park to conduct scientific research.

While building a modern agricultural demonstration zone, the ecological park has improved a series of supporting facilities for entertainment, leisure, quality education, and business conferences, forming a uniquely featured comprehensive service venue that integrates agricultural ecological sightseeing, leisure vacations, quality education, and business conferences. In terms of management, it adheres to “people-oriented, technology-oriented” principles, focusing on the core idea that “all services serve operations, and all operations serve benefits.” It continuously improves the professional skills of management and staff, establishing a “scientific and procedural” management model to maximize corporate benefits.

Since its opening in May 2000, it has successfully hosted numerous large-scale events and activities such as the “First National Natural Ecology and National Fitness Sports Invitation Tournament,” “Fourth National Lion Dance Championship,” “Green Economy Seminar,” “Ecological Agriculture with Science and Technology First,” “Gaoyao Industrial Products Trade Fair,” “Zhaoqing Agricultural Products Expo,” “2003 Gaoyao Foreign Economic and Trade Fair,” and “Eighth National Orienteering Competition.” These events have promoted further development in local transportation, information exchange, and commodity circulation; demonstrated the role of comprehensive agricultural development, boosting the city’s agricultural industrialization; enhanced the brand of Gaoyao’s ecological environment; and played an important window and bridge role for Gaoyao City in external relations.
