The Sanyang Xiawan Site

The Sanyang Xiawan Site is a cultural heritage site under the protection of Pingjiang County.

The Sanyang Xiawan Site is located in Xiawan Group, Xiawan Village, Sanyang Township, Pingjiang County. It dates back to the Warring States period and is classified as an ancient site.

On November 20, 2013, the Sanyang Xiawan Site was designated as part of the fourth batch of county-level cultural heritage protection units in Pingjiang County.

Sanyang Township: Located in the central part of the county, Sanyang Township borders five other townships—Wengjiang, Anding, Sanshi, Chengguan, and Tianyue Development Zone. It features the steep and precipitous Miya Fortress, where birds sing in chorus, as well as the meandering Miluo River with its emerald waters that encircle the land like a jade belt. It is a vast, picturesque, and historically rich “fengshui treasure,” abundant in resources and home to many notable figures. The township covers a total catchment area of 214 square kilometers, with a population of 60,000, and administers 42 villages and 510 villager groups.
