Fubo Ridge

The scenic spot is located in Luokou, the county town, which is a historic ancient town. Towering beside the Lujiang River, Fubo Ridge marks the first chapter in the town’s history. During the Western Han Dynasty, General Fubo Ma Yuan was ordered to campaign southward against Jiaozhi. When he passed through here, there was only an unnamed hill. He arrived with thousands of troops and horses, bringing the sounds of war cries and galloping steeds. He stationed his army on this hill. Now, 2,000 years after his departure, he has inadvertently left the hill with a name: Fubo Ridge. It is said that during the Tang Dynasty, a Temple to General Fubo was built on the ridge. General Ma Yuan was fortunate — he fulfilled the Chinese saying: “Leave a name behind as you pass through life.”
