The Dajing Scenic Area is a tourist destination that combines natural landscapes—characterized mainly by the harmonious coexistence of mountains, water, forests, and birds—with cultural heritage featuring well-preserved ancient temple ruins from the Ming and Qing dynasties. It serves as a hub for sightseeing, vacationing, and entertainment.

The scenic area is divided into three major zones: Xianfeng Ridge, Jingshui Lake, and Pingfeng Ridge. It features four first-tier attractions including the “Golden Wheel Ancient Temple,” “Valley Sound Clear Stream,” “Best Views of Mountains and Waters,” and “Birds’ Paradise,” ten second-tier attractions such as “Fairy Peak Wonderland,” and twenty third-tier attractions like “Twin Wells Clear Spring.” Each offers unique and distinctive scenery.

Upon ascending the dam of Jingshui Lake (Dajing Reservoir), the central attraction “Best Views of Mountains and Waters” comes into view. The winding Jingshui Lake, spanning dozens of miles, lies peacefully cradled in the embrace of green mountains. At dawn, white mist rises between the mountains and water, blending the landscape in a hazy fusion, which clears to reveal pristine blue waters and verdant peaks.

Located within Jingshui Lake is Guoxing Mountain, covered in dense forests and lush vegetation, with mirror-like water surfaces that are isolated from the surrounding land. It serves as an ideal habitat for various birds to nest, forage, and breed. Here, visitors can witness hundreds or even thousands of birds soaring through the sky in vivid formations, creating a magical spectacle of white specks, as well as hear the chorus of birdsong. Scenic spots scattered across the lake area include “Rice Fragrance Countryside,” “Valley Sound Clear Stream,” “Heaven on Earth,” “Spring of Life Cottage,” “Fragrant Snow of Lingering Plum Blossoms,” “Bamboo Sea Mist,” “Secluded Bamboo Path,” “Pine Ridge Moon Waiting,” “Cicadas Chirping in the Woods,” and “Clam Ridge Dawn.”

In the northern part of the scenic area lies a beautiful and mysterious mountain called “Poshan Ridge,” named after a famous legend from the Song Dynasty titled “Seven Women Ascending to Immortality.” The ancient temple’s flying bell, the cinnabar glow of Zheling, the lion’s moon roar, the tiger listening to scriptures, the distant sails at Shigang, the Twin Wells Clear Spring, the Pingfeng Sunset Glow, and the Peach Blossom Rain are all shrouded in rich mythological significance. At the summit of Poshan Ridge stands the ancient Golden Wheel Temple, originally built during the Tang Dynasty, renowned in the Song, Ming, and Qing dynasties, and enjoying great popularity for worship throughout those periods.
