Xintian Qingyun Pagoda

Xintian Qingyun Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Xintian County.

Qingyun Pagoda is located to the south of Xintian County town, about 1 kilometer from the county center. Built in the ninth year of the Xianfeng reign during the Qing Dynasty (1859), the pagoda covers an area of 729 square meters. It has a hollow structure, an octagonal shape with seven tiers, and a total height of 31.5 meters. Constructed from brick and stone, the entire pagoda features a conical pavilion-style design, unique to southern Hunan.

In 1982, it was designated as a county-level key cultural relic protection unit by the People's Government of Xintian County. At the foot of Qingyun Pagoda lies Zhushayan (Cinnabar Rock). On clear, breezy nights, the reflection of the mountain and pagoda in the water, swaying under the moonlight, creates ever-changing scenery—forming one of Xintian’s Eight Scenic Spots, known as “Cinnabar Moonlight at Night.”
