Recently, after preliminary selection by the Shenzhen Foreign Affairs Office, Zhongying Urban successfully secured the research project for the Shenzhen International Friendship Cities Park.
1. The Garden City
Shenzhen has demonstrated increasingly mature and infinitely charming gestures in international friendship and exchanges. The resulting “international circle of friends” has also helped Shenzhen continuously broaden its global perspective and jointly advance the construction of an international, innovative city. The International Friendship Cities Park is one of the key projects among the characteristic theme parks planned and constructed by Shenzhen, and serves as a special platform to carry forward the cultural development of Shenzhen’s international friendship cities.
Against the backdrop of Shenzhen’s vision to build an international and innovative city, deeper and broader interactive cooperation and cultural exchanges within the international friendship “circle of friends” have become even more important. Constructing an international friendship city park that meets international standards, reflects Shenzhen’s unique cultural character, and fulfills the city’s developmental needs will be of epoch-making significance.
2. The Underground Music City
Beneath the Flower World site, the world’s largest underground music city—“Global Music Park”—will be established. With the themes of “peace and friendship,” it will vigorously promote the music of the Belt and Road Initiative and develop into the largest music interactive experience zone in southern China. Global Music Park will offer a comprehensive range of features, including performances and exhibitions, music experiences, music training, music-themed retail, and small concert halls. Using music as a bridge, it will connect the emotions and friendships of people along the maritime and overland Silk Roads.
In line with the green new pastoral city design philosophy proposed by Professor Chen Keshi, the chief designer of Zhongying Urban, the Friendship Cities Park is a place that conveys friendship through plants and flowers. Whether for foreign visitors or Shenzhen residents, these elements can express the concept of joy; embodying the theme of “Isn’t it a delight to have friends coming from afar?” The Friendship Cities Park aims to become a classic garden, creating an atmosphere that is small yet refined, reflecting multiculturalism, diverse plant species, and a variety of flowers. It will carry rich connotations and host colorful activities. Through gardens and plants, it will express the shared preferences of people around the world, embody the spirit of friendship, and convey the culture of friendship cities.
