The northern mountainous area of Xintian is the essence of its landscapes and the heart of its rural charm. It is both a sea of green and a world of water, as well as a piece of pristine land untouched by the dust of the mundane world. Within its bounds, over a thousand peaks undulate continuously, rolling waves of green stretching as far as the eye can see, connecting the verdant hues of heaven and earth. Dozens of small streams flow through the mountains like the veins in a living body, cradled within the mountain’s embrace. The water in these streams is truly water in the purest sense—so clear that it hides no secrets whatsoever. Even the newly hatched fish and shrimp are clearly visible to the naked eye. In the late 1950s, the people of Xintian built a large reservoir at the foot of these mountains, where these streams converge. Named Jinling Lake, the reservoir spans approximately ten square kilometers and remains crystal-clear and unpolluted all year round. When you are there, you might even doubt that it is a man-made reservoir, wondering instead if it is a heavenly lake bestowed upon the people of Xintian by the gods themselves.

Amidst these landscapes, what tugs most at the heartstrings is the preserved, wild, and rustic charm of the countryside. Here, it can be said that there is a valley, and there is a stream; where there is a stream, there are a few households nestled around its bends. Qianmaping, Daqiaobian… all feature uniform wooden houses, stilted buildings, stone mills, bamboo water channels, and wood-fired stoves… A trip to this land of origin will allow you to become a brand-new version of yourself.

Jinling Lake boasts vast waters, crystal-clear quality, and low sediment content. Surrounded by green mountains and set in a tranquil environment, it is covered with fruit orchards spanning tens of thousands of acres, and features high forest vegetation coverage, fresh air, and an abundance of negative oxygen ions. It is an ideal destination for leisure, fishing, and aquatic recreation during holidays. Boating on the lake, you’ll find lush trees encircling the water, shimmering ripples, and dotted boats nearby, while in the distance, misty mountain hues and emerald shades blend into the landscape. The chirping of birds among the willows veiled in mist, and the pavilions of the countryside shrouded in light rain, will leave you awestruck by the scenery before you—so captivating that you may feel as though you’ve entered a fairyland on earth.
