Madu Bridge

Madu Bridge is located over the Chaxi River in Madu Village, Yanglin Management Area, Dongping Town, Anhua County. It spans the Chaxi River from southeast to northwest and was built in the sixth year of the Republic of China (1917). The bridge features a double-eaved, hanging gable roof covered with small green tiles and a cantilevered wooden beam structure. It has two abutments, two piers, a diamond-shaped water divider, and five layers of bracket arms (que mu); it is approximately 46.5 meters long, 10 meters high, and 3.7 meters wide. The middle section serves as a walkway, while both sides feature resting pavilions. There are a total of 22 bays in the resting pavilions, each 2.1 meters long. The northwest side is accessed via bluestone steps.
