Gulu Township: Established in 1956, Gulu Township is located in the middle reaches of the Zhexi Reservoir area. In 1958, it was merged into Nanjin Commune. In 1961, during an administrative adjustment, it was separated from Nanjin Commune to form Gulu Commune. In 1984, it was restructured as a township, and in 1995, despite district and township mergers, it remained a standalone township. It covers a total area of 171.83 square kilometers (including the state-owned Zhexi Forest Farm) and governs 29 villages.
