Huanglongguan Scenic Area in Baokang is located in the northwest of Baokang County, bordering the Shennongjia Forest Area and Fang County, with an official ticket price of 50 yuan. The scenic area officially opened to visitors in May 2013, focusing on developing high-quality happy rural tourism routes. To date, it has built the Huanglong Taoist Temple centered on Taoist culture, the Pengzu Health Preservation Hall with five-star standards focused on wellness and leisure, the Walnut Orchard Sightseeing Belt centered on ecological tourism, a folk art troupe centered on folk culture, and the Fuziyan Scenic Area centered on natural landscapes.

Huanglongguan Village in Baokang is nestled alongside the Shennongjia Forest Area, surrounded by mountains, lush greenery, misty vistas, and fresh air. Since 2005, under the leadership of Village Party Secretary Zhang Zuliang, the village has achieved overall poverty alleviation through phosphate mining. Today, it has grown into one of Baokang County’s “Top Ten Economic Villages” and an “Advanced Village Collective Economy in the Province.” By the end of 2012, Huanglongguan Village had 11 joint-stock enterprises and 8 private enterprises, achieving a total industrial and agricultural output value of 108 million yuan and a per capita income of 11,500 yuan. The now-prosperous villagers recognized that industrial transformation and the development of eco-tourism are the keys to sustainable growth.

With an average elevation of 1,200 meters, Huanglongguan Village boasts beautiful mountains and rivers, lush vegetation, and over 10 natural attractions including Yingpangou, Fuziyan, Yuanyangchi, and Maohutang. It also features the ruins of a Taoist architectural complex built during the Ming Dynasty under the era of Zhang Sanfeng. In recent years, leveraging its tourism resources, the village has invested nearly 100 million yuan to create the first village-level eco-tourism destination in Xiangyang. In 2011, the Huanglong Canyon Zip Line was completed. In 2012, the ancient Taoist architectural complex was renovated, and the Pengzu Health Preservation Hall and Tourism Reception Center were newly built. In 2013, the Fuziyan Plank Walkway was constructed. On March 19 of this year, the Huanglongguan Village Folk Culture and Art Troupe was established, officially launching the two major cultural tourism projects: “Hometown of Folk Songs” and “Birthplace of Pengzu.” On May 25, the Huanglongguan Village Eco-Cultural Tourism Company held its unveiling ceremony, and the first four major tourist attractions in Huanglongguan Village were officially opened to the public.
