The Renjialong Site

The Renjialong Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Hubei Province.

The Renjialong Site

Located 300 meters south of Lulinshan Village, Jiaodong Township, Dangyang City, this is a Neolithic and Zhou dynasty site. It covers an area of approximately 120,000 square meters, with a cultural layer about 1 meter thick. Exposed features include ash pits and burned earth. Stone chisels and pottery shards have been collected. The Neolithic pottery shards are mainly gray clay pottery, followed by black clay pottery, with decorative patterns such as string patterns, basket patterns, and additional stacked patterns. Artifact shapes include jars, vats, and pots, belonging to the Shijiahe culture. Zhou dynasty pottery shards include rope-patterned tripod leg fragments made of sandy red clay, as well as rim fragments of gray clay basins and leg fragments of dou vessels made of gray clay, among others.
