The 2013 IFSC Climbing World Cup (Haiyang Stop) will take place this October in Haiyang City, Shandong Province. More than 10 countries and regions from Europe, Asia, and the Americas will send their top climbers to compete.

The IFSC Climbing World Cup stops and the IFSC Climbing World Championships are both major events under the International Federation of Sport Climbing. The competition features three disciplines: speed, lead, and bouldering. It is a world-class event known for its high level of competition, large scale, prestigious status, and strong entertainment value, combining athleticism, fun, and visual appeal. It represents the highest level of competitive climbing today.

According to Zhang Jiangyuan, Vice President of the Chinese Mountaineering Association, Haiyang City built world-class climbing facilities during the 2012 Asian Beach Games. With its complete sports infrastructure and first-class organization, the city is set to deliver a spectacular “aerial ballet” competition for audiences.
The IFSC Climbing World Cup Haiyang Stop will be held on October 15–16. The event is organized by the International Federation of Sport Climbing and co-hosted by the Climbing Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and the People’s Government of Haiyang City. It will feature four events: men’s and women’s speed climbing and lead climbing.
This year’s IFSC Climbing World Cup consists of 19 stops worldwide, three of which will be hosted by China: Chongqing, Wujiang in Jiangsu, and Haiyang in Shandong.
