The Former Revolutionary Sites of Machi is a classic red tourism destination.

The Former Revolutionary Sites of Machi (located in Group 1, Machi Village, Duzhenwan Town, Changyang Tujia Autonomous County, Yichang City)

On February 24, 1931, the Second Congress of Workers, Peasants, and Soldiers was held in Machi, during which the Second Soviet Government of Changyang County was elected. In February 1931, after the 2nd Army of the Red 2nd Corps and the Red 50th Division captured the county seat Longzhouping, following instructions from He Long, the CPC Changyang County Committee and the County Soviet Government were relocated to Machi to guide the acceleration of political power construction and the implementation of land reform across the county. This period marked the heyday in the development history of the Changyang Soviet Area. After the relocation, the CPC Changyang County Committee and the County Soviet Government established five committees—Military, Finance, Economy, Judiciary, and Suppression of Counterrevolutionaries—as well as two battalions for Propaganda and Guard. The County Communist Youth League Committee and the Women’s Association were also set up here. The former sites of the CPC Changyang County Committee, the Changyang County Soviet Government, the County Military Commission, and the County Women’s Defense Association remain well preserved.

In recent years, the People's Government of Duzhenwan Town has raised funds to comprehensively renovate the sites and incorporate them into the Qingjiang Gallery Scenic Area. In July 2013, it was designated by the CPC Yichang Municipal Committee as one of the first municipal-level cultural heritage conservation units and a base for Party history education.
