Gulongxi Drifting Scenic Area
The Gulongxi Drifting Scenic Area is located in Dingjiapo, Huanghua Township, Yichang County, and is another thrilling adventure destination along the Yangtze River Three Gorges scenic route. The Gulongxi drifting course spans 12 kilometers, featuring nine rapids and eighteen bends—abundant rapids and sharp turns, stunning scenery, and an exhilarating drifting experience. The natural karst cave, Gulong Palace, boasts a myriad of unique formations and breathtaking views, while the rare Chinese Wenshu trees stand twisted yet lush. The bridal sedan chair is a fresh and curious sight, and the handsome Tujia girls and honest mountain village lads, along with the bold and unrestrained funeral dance, showcase the splendid cultural charm of the Ba–Chu region. The scenic area is 23 kilometers from downtown Yichang. Visitors can take bus routes 100 or 101 from Yichang to Xiaoxita (2 RMB fare), then transfer to a minibus heading toward Fenxiang (3 RMB fare, get off at the Gulongxi entrance).
