The Three Gorges Monkey Creek Ecotourism Area consists of three parts: the Fairy Cableway, the Crane Cave, and the Immortal Stream. The Fairy Cableway is 888 meters long with an elevation difference of 123.8 meters and is equipped with 68 double seats, making it the only sightseeing cableway in Yichang City. The Crane Cave stretches 1,180 meters and covers a cave area of 3,000 square meters. It remains warm in winter and cool in summer, maintaining a constant temperature of 18°C year-round. It is renowned for its deep, mysterious caverns, dense and uniquely shaped rock formations, and exquisite craftsmanship. Inside the cave, winding paths lead to serene spots, where stalagmites, stalactites, stone curtains, stone hairs, and other karst features present a dazzling array of spectacular scenes.

The Immortal Stream is 6.8 kilometers long and is a secluded valley within the Xiling Gorge. It is home to over 200 species of trees and more than 180 species of animals, with a forest coverage rate of around 98%. The air is rich in phytoncides, which have antibacterial properties and offer therapeutic benefits, making it an ideal destination for “forest bathing.”

The Three Gorges Monkey Creek scenic area offers ever-changing views along the trail, featuring three major waterfalls (the Milky Way Waterfall, the Three-Tiered Waterfall, and the Fairy Waterfall), four deep pools (the Jade Maiden Pool, the Body-Capturing Pool, the Twin Pools Reflecting the Moon, and the Boatman’s Pool), ancient Ba people rock dwellings, and a natural monkey reserve, among other attractions. The Immortal Stream is famed far and wide for its seven wonders: perilous peaks, bizarre rocks, unique caves, graceful waterfalls, emerald pools, frequent mists, and lush forests.
