Former Residence of Xu Haidong

The former residence of Xu Haidong is a Hubei Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a classic red tourism attraction.

The former residence of Xu Haidong is located in Xujia Yao, Jiangchong Village, Xincheng Town, Dawu County. The house is a brick-and-wood structure with three rooms and two courtyards, and is a provincial-level key cultural relics protection unit. Xu Haidong (1900–1970), originally named Xu Yuanqing, was from Huangpi, Hubei. He joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1925. He once served as commander of the 28th and 25th Red Armies, a member of the National Defense Committee, and a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. In 1955, he was awarded the rank of Grand General. The residence has a quadrangle layout, with a construction area of about 200 square meters and a brick-and-wood structure. It bears witness to Xu Haidong’s early life and his gradual path toward revolution, holding significant historical and educational value. (Fifth Batch)
