Eye-catching alert！Tokyo’s giant “Rainbow Soft Serve” — one cone, eight flavors

A must-try at Nakano Broadway: Dailychiko’s “Giant Rainbow Soft Serve”

Japanese ice cream is simply unbelievably delicious—whether you buy it at tourist spots, convenience stores, or rest stops, anything you pick is bound to be tasty. With flavors like strawberry, matcha, grape, sweet potato, soy sauce, and rose, the variety is endless. The most irresistible part? Limited-edition seasonal and regional flavors that you absolutely must try！

So far, the most unforgettable flavors I’ve tried are: (1) the richly decadent “Hokkaido Yubari Melon,” (2) the “New Shinsei Koshihikari Rice” where you can actually taste the grains, (3) the sweet-and-salty “Nagoya Hatcho Miso,” and (4) the fragrant “Furano Lavender.”

Regular soft serve is already enough to make me feel euphoric, but when I saw photos online of this colorful “rainbow soft serve,” I was absolutely blown away！It instantly sparked an intense desire to challenge myself to finish the whole thing.

This multi-flavor soft serve seems to be sold at various tourist spots across Japan, but in the Tokyo area, the most famous is probably “Dailychiko” in Nakano. Exit from the north gate of Nakano Station, walk past the Sanrio store and the Canon showroom, then take the escalator down to the first basement level of the ROADWAY (Broadway) shopping street to find the “Dailychiko” soft serve specialty shop. Their giant soft serve features eight flavors stacked on top: strawberry, coffee latte, grape, caramel, Ramune soda, matcha, vanilla, and sweet potato.

At first, I was puzzled about how it’s made. But after ordering and watching the staff move between eight soft serve machines with a cookie cup, layering each flavor one by one, it all became clear. Once you get your hands on the legendary rainbow soft serve, everyone can’t help but take tons of photos—it’s not only Instagram-worthy, but every single flavor is absolutely delicious！

All those layers for just 440 yen? Insane value！After struggling through it for a while, I finally admitted defeat—I really couldn’t finish the whole thing alone (so sad). Because it’s stacked so high and heavy with eight layers, be careful when holding it to avoid it toppling over！

(1) Choose your size (small, medium, or giant)
(2) Pick your cup (cookie cup or paper cup)
(3) Select your flavors (by number). Small size allows two flavors, medium allows four.
