The Liang Clan Ancestral Hall in Yangxin

The Liang Clan Ancestral Hall in Yangxin is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Hubei Province.

The Liang Clan Ancestral Hall is located in Huangtang Village, Baisha Town, Yangxin County. It was first constructed in the 37th year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1700), with subsequent expansions, and took its present form in the 23rd year of the Guangxu reign (1898). The building faces south and is built along the contour of the land, with each section rising progressively toward the rear. It has a roughly rectangular floor plan, measuring 45 meters in width and 55 meters in depth. The structure features a mixed brick-and-timber construction, with a flush-gable roof covered in gray tiles and a hybrid framing system combining through-tenon and post-and-lintel techniques. In terms of design philosophy, site selection, and layout, the hall reflects a strong influence of feudal clan ideology and serves as an important physical resource for studying the clan system in southeastern Hubei.
