Tongwan Chen Ancestral Residence

The Tongwan Chen Ancestral Residence is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Hubei Province.

The Tongwan Chen Ancestral Residence is located in Tongwan Chen Village, Wangying Town, Yangxin County. Built from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republican era, it includes ancestral homes such as those of Chen Shidong, Chen Xuxue, Chen Xisong, Chen Xide, Chen Shiying, and Chen Shiyuan. These structures share a largely similar layout—quadrangle-style courtyards built with brick and wood. This architectural complex is a kinship-based clan settlement that provides important physical evidence for the study of traditional lifestyles in southeastern Hubei. (Fifth Batch)
