Qingtan Bay
Nestled against the undulating and layered peaks of Daqi Mountain, Qingtan Bay in Datian Village, Wangying Town, Yangxin County is embraced by the Qingtan Stream, formed by several clear mountain springs halfway up the mountain that meander around the village. Oil pressing is one of its traditional specialties.
Aside from its ancient bridges, old wells, and 20 historic residences, a major highlight that led to Qingtan Bay being designated a Traditional Chinese Village is its ancient ancestral hall, which boasts a history of over 300 years. This renowned Wu Family Ancestral Hall was built in the 10th year of the Shunzhi era during the Qing Dynasty (1653) by the Wu clan, covering an area of about 2,700 square meters. It features a majestic structure and preserves more than 150 pieces of wood carvings and dozens of stone carvings, all exquisitely crafted. In front of the main hall stands an ancient opera stage with upturned eaves and intricately carved beams. The coiled dragon relief beneath the stage is considered a masterpiece among stone carvings. Due to its immense historical, cultural, and architectural value, the Wu Family Ancestral Hall was listed as a Provincial-Level Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit in 2008.
