Ruins of the Small Suo City

The ruins of the Small Suo City are a cultural relic protection unit of Zhengzhou City.

The ruins of the Small Suo City are located around Zhanglou Administrative Village in Chengguan Township, Xingyang City. Only a section of the rammed earth wall on the southern part of the eastern city wall remains above ground, with the highest point reaching approximately 5 meters. At the edge of the river terrace to the southwest, densely distributed and hard-packed rammed foundation bases have been discovered, with a thickness of less than 0.1 meter. The rammed pits come in two types: round-bottomed (diameter 0.05 meter) and round-bottomed (diameter 0.07 meter). A large number of pottery fragments, rubble, and other artifacts have been collected from the southern and northern surfaces within the city. Some pottery dou (food vessels) have stamps such as "Ge Clan" and "Ge Clan Left (Right) Si Gong (Kong)" on their bottoms. The city covers a large area and features remnants of rammed city walls and foundations. The surface contains abundant Eastern Zhou pottery fragments and roof tile samples.
