The Renwa Kiln Site

The Renwa Kiln Site is a cultural heritage site protected by the Zhengzhou Municipal Government.

The Renwa Kiln Site is located in the northern part of Renwa Village, Liuhe Town, Xingyang City. The site is distributed across multiple terraced levels, stretching approximately 280 meters from east to west and about 160 meters from north to south, covering an area of around 45,000 square meters. Kiln clay has been found on the cliff face in the central part of the site, while cultural layers are exposed on the southern cliff face and on two terraced levels above and below. These cultural layers are 3–4 meters thick and contain a large number of ceramic fragments, predominantly black-glazed pottery, along with a small number of white porcelain and yellow-glazed pieces. Identifiable vessel types include bowls, jars, plates, and supporting stands. Based on the characteristics of the collected samples, it has been determined that this was a kiln site dating back to the Tang Dynasty.
