The Shaolin Temple Martial Arts School is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Henan Shaolin Temple Martial Arts School is located 700 meters east of the thousand-year-old Shaolin Temple on Song Mountain. It lies to the north of Wuru Peak, south of the Shaoshui River, 87 kilometers east of the provincial capital Zhengzhou, and 74 kilometers west of the ancient capital of nine dynasties, Luoyang. National Highway 207 runs 600 meters east of the school. The area features a gathering of peaks, rugged rocks, winding streams, and towering ancient trees.

The Henan Shaolin Temple Martial Arts School is China’s first comprehensive international martial arts training base jointly invested in by the National Tourism Administration and the People’s Government of Henan Province. It is dedicated to enrolling students from both China and abroad, cultivating professional martial arts talent, and promoting Shaolin martial arts. The school integrates martial arts training, tourism, and reception services, and is affiliated with the Henan Provincial Tourism Bureau. Covering an area of 50,000 square meters with a built-up area of 20,000 square meters, it boasts a grand scale, majestic presence, and unique architectural style. Facilities include a modern performance hall with over 560 seats; two training rooms on the east and west sides, each with a floor area of 400 square meters; an outdoor performance venue — the Shaolin Temple Martial Arts Arena — with a seating capacity of over 5,000 and a construction area of 7,000 square meters; a 600-square-meter traditional outdoor training ground; and the Shaolin Martial Arts Hotel, a comprehensive service area that combines business, shopping, recreation, dining, and accommodation. It is the only star-rated international hotel within the Shaolin Temple scenic area. With top-tier teaching facilities and superior environmental conditions, it is regarded as one of China’s premier centers for martial arts training and martial arts tourism.
