On the afternoon of the 23rd, a hiker from Zhengzhou was climbing Songshan Mountain when he accidentally fell about 7 meters down a cliff near the western gully of Yuhuang Grand Canyon on Shaoshi Mountain. Firefighters from Dengfeng City, along with staff from Dengfeng People's Hospital and the Dengfeng Outdoor Rescue Team, rushed to the scene for a rescue operation, but unfortunately, they were unable to save his life (pictured). It is reported that the hiker who died was part of a QQ group from Zhengzhou. The group had planned to hike Songshan Mountain together, but the accident occurred unexpectedly.
The captain of the Dengfeng Outdoor Rescue Team, nicknamed "Mountain Village," explained that Yuhuang Grand Canyon is divided into two parts: Yuhuang Gully and Western Gully. The Western Gully features particularly steep and treacherous terrain. The accident occurred in the perilous Western Gully.
