Dengfeng Jidu Temple

Dengfeng Jidu Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Jidu Temple is located on a terrace north of Zhangjiamen Village, Shidao Township, Dengfeng City. It faces south and was first built in the early Ming Dynasty, with renovations during the Wanli era. It underwent multiple restorations in the Qing Dynasty, and after being funded by devotees in the seventh year of the Republic of China, it was transformed into a complete courtyard complex. The main gate is tall, spanning one bay in both width and depth, with seven stone steps leading up to it. It features a flush-gable roof with small tiles and an arched gate. The Jidu Hall, the main hall of the temple, is where the Jidu deity is enshrined. It spans three bays in width and four rafters in depth, with a flush-gable roof and small tiles. The east and west wing rooms share the same architectural style as the Jidu Hall. The temple preserves several stone tablets inscribed with records of renovations from the Ming Dynasty to the Republic of China. The site holds certain value for the study of local religious customs and architectural styles from the Republican era.
