Dengfeng White Crane Temple

The Dengfeng White Crane Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhengzhou City.

The White Crane Temple is located at the foot of Sanhe Peak on Mount Taishi in Dengfeng City. It faces south, with its back against the steep Junji Peak to the north and a cliff to the south. According to the Henan Prefecture Records, the White Crane Temple got its name from Zijin riding a crane, but its exact construction date is unknown. The Dengfeng Old Records state that it was rebuilt in the 12th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1275), hence it is categorized as a Yuan Dynasty structure. In 1990, the Lishan Laomu Hall and the Baiyi Laomu Hall were constructed. The Lishan Laomu Hall has three bays, a gray tubular tile roof, and lattice windows and doors. The Baiyi Laomu Hall also has three bays with a depth of two bays, a small flat tile roof, and lattice windows and doors, both featuring a flush-gable roof style with front porches.
