Menggezhuang Site

The Menggezhuang Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Hebei Province.

A Neolithic site. Located on the sand dunes along the eastern bank of the Xun River in Menggezhuang Village, Sanhe City, Hebei Province. Excavated in 1979. The site generally revealed remains from two periods: the first phase is similar to the Cishan Culture found at the Beifudi Site, with accompanying cylindrical jars from the Xinglongwa Culture system. The second phase belongs to the Shangzhai Culture, which is most closely related to similar remains at the Shangzhai Site, also featuring open cylindrical jars with diagonal scraped patterns, ring-footed bowls, and “Z”-shaped stamped patterns being quite common, as well as stone spades identical to those of the Zhaobaogou Culture among the lithic artifacts.

On July 23, 1982, the Menggezhuang Site was designated as a provincial-level cultural heritage protection unit by the People's Government of Hebei Province.
