Liu Baita Village Site

The Liu Baita Village Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province.

The Liu Baita Village Site is a Neolithic and Warring States period archaeological site. It is located on the terrace along the southern bank of the Xun River in Liu Baita Village, Sanhe City, Hebei Province, and was discovered in 1984. Excavations were carried out in 1991. The unearthed Neolithic remains are largely attributed to the Shangzhai Culture, while the pottery found in H1 includes punctate-stamped round-bottomed bowls, wide-rimmed basins, cauldrons, and tripod feet, bearing a strong resemblance to the pottery assemblage of the Hougang Phase I Culture. Therefore, it represents a distinct cultural deposit slightly later than the Shangzhai Culture.

On July 15, 1993, the Liu Baita Village Site was designated as a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit by the People's Government of Hebei Province.
