Bazhou Longquan Temple is a key cultural relic protection site in Hebei Province, located in Xin’an Town, Bazhou City. It was first built in the late Tang Dynasty. Originally named Longhua Temple, it was renamed “Puzhao Chan Monastery” during the Jin Dynasty and officially designated as Longquan Temple in the Yuan Dynasty. On both sides of the central axis in front of the temple’s Mahavira Hall, there are two ancient wells with water gushing out like springs—hence the name “Longquan.”

The main hall, Mahavira Hall, is a single-eave hip-and-gable roof structure with a green-glazed tile roof trimmed with diamond-shaped patterns. It is three bays wide and three bays deep, using a total of 12 columns in the plan. Behind it is the Thousand-Hand Buddha Pavilion, which has a four-sloped roof. The Mahavira Hall features a stone relief carving in the center depicting a Buddha statue, flanked by dragon motifs. In recent years, relevant departments have invested hundreds of thousands of yuan to comprehensively renovate the temple, which is now an open site for religious activities.
