Yuzhou Longhu Mountain Scenic Area

Longhu Mountain is located in Wuliang Town, Yuzhou City. Its main peak, Laoshanping (also known as Laoguan Mountain, referred to as Junzhou Mingshan during the Ming Dynasty), is also called Taibai Mountain. It belongs to the Juci Mountain Range, and the scenic area covers an area of 3.5 million square meters. Standing on Taibai Ridge and looking into the distance, the vast eastern Henan Plain stretches out to the southeast, while undulating hills rise on both sides like a roc spreading its wings, with the right side featuring a mountaintop known as “Taihu Stone.” The mountain boasts a variety of uniquely shaped natural rock formations.

Natural attractions include the Millstone, Rooster Beak, Hen Beak, Dragon Blast Nest, Jade Emperor’s Washing Pool, Tiger Resting Cave, Taihu Stone, Ancient Locust Tree, Mountain Spring Tree, and Yuewan Reservoir. Due to Longhu Mountain’s terrain and topography, which align perfectly with traditional Chinese feng shui principles of “resting against a mountain and facing a screen, gathering energy and storing wind,” it is considered an exceptionally auspicious feng shui site. As a result, the Ming Dynasty’s Prince Zhou Ding chose this location to build his tomb and that of his concubines.
